As human beings, we all need role models.

In this day and age, the rapid expansion of media and entertainment has meant that today, our role models are more likely to be film stars, sports personalities, pop stars and the rich and famous. Yet if we delve beneath the glittering veneer of their superficial glamour, we find individuals who are more deserving of our contempt, let alone serving as role models. The pop star is a cocaine addict, the sports personality is an abusive thug and the rich and famous are arrogant and aloof.

Yet for Muslims, by the Grace of Allah (God Almighty), we have been blessed with individuals in Islamic history, who thoroughly deserve to wear the title of role models. In fact, their lives represent the complete antithesis of the modern equivalents mentioned above. The deeper you delve into their lives, the better and brighter the picture becomes. We speak here of none other than the blessed Companions of the Prophet Muhammed (peace be upon him and upon them all).

As against every attribute of ethics and values that humans can be measured, you will find a Companion who is of that attribute, a perfect embodiment. There is the unshakable faith and resolve of Abu Bakr; the strength and fortitude of Umar Ibn Al Khataab; the devotion and exuberance of Aishah; the grave austerity and purpose of Abu Dhar Al Gifaari and the list goes on.

The intension behind this site is to provide the reader with as accurate and informative account of the lives of The Comapanions of the Prophet Muhammed as possible. In doing so, it will certainly fall short as their lives could well be the subject of many websites, yet with all the misinformation, misrepresentation and outright lies often attributed to them, The Companions of the Prophet deserve far greater respect and admiration.
